Lloyd’s Register
- Fairplay is now IHS Fairplay
In June 2009, IHS
acquired Lloyd’s Register-Fairplay. This powerful combination is creating unparalleled
capability to deliver critical information and insight to our customers. To reflect
the full strength of these combined capabilities, we are changing our name to IHS Fairplay.
What
does this mean for our customers?
-
IHS Fairplay has a strong foundation for growth to better serve our customers.
IHS offers information and expert analysis in pivotal areas shaping today’s business
landscape: energy, product lifecycle, environment and security all supported by
unsurpassed macroeconomic forecasting. With customers including 80 percent of the
Global Fortune 500, annual revenue of nearly US$ 1 billion and more than 4,100 IHS
colleagues in 28 countries, IHS provides a strong platform from which we are growing
our capabilities and services for customers.
-
Access to broader analytical and insight capabilities.
In addition to the maritime information IHS Fairplay has traditionally
provided, we can now partner with IHS Jane’s, IHS Global Insight, IHS CERA,
IHS Herold and experts throughout IHS to provide the most in-depth, comprehensive
and trusted insight into the critical issues of our day. This suite of expertise
represents the most sought after analysis on the global economy, security and defence,
energy, the environment, global supply chain and more.
-
Continued provision of leading critical maritime information and
insight. IHS Fairplay continues to be the sole authority
for assigning and validating the IMO Ship and Company Numbering Schemes, guaranteeing
a level of comprehensiveness in our data that no one else can.
-
An unwavering commitment to quality.
The core competency at IHS is creating critical information and insight that customers
require, by transforming data into actionable information. The quality of this data
transformation is rigorously assessed against the four dimensions of correctness,
currency, completeness and consistency. Vigilance in creating information our customers
can trust continues to be an IHS Fairplay mainstay.
As part of IHS, our customers can be assured that IHS Fairplay
is better positioned than ever to be the source for maritime information
and insight.
